Exakt Lite is an inuitive and user friendly FM synthesizer plugin.

From the harsh digital and cold sounds known from the FM era to warm and organic sounds, Exakt Lite can create a wide range of sounds.

Exakt Lite has got 4 operators which can be arranged in the classic 8 FM algorithms with feedback on operator D. Each operator has got different waveforms such as the basic sine, saw, square and triangle. Additionally, the 8 classic waveforms from the Yamaha TX81Z are emulated.

ach operator has got a separate amplitude envelope generator supporting the classic 5 point TX envelopes. These envelopes have been modeled to mimic the TX characteristics.

The plugin UI has been created using vector graphics and supports blur free resizing.
  • 4 aliasing free Operators with classic TX waveforms.
  • 12 voices.
  • Drag-and-drop envelopes.
  • 8 classic FM algorithms with feedback on operator D.
  • Resonant filter with 24db/oct lowpass, highpass and bandpass.
  • Visualization of the resulting waveform for immediate editing response.
  • LFO syncable to host.

Not bad for a modern-GUI 4-op FM synth. If you're really into FM and don't mind payware under $20, I recommend checking out Aurora by Audio Nebula. The GUI admittedly isn't for everyone, but the thing's a beast.

Only thing I wish, was that there was a way to copy env shapes to other oscillators or the filter env. oh and id like some adsr knobs instead of needing to adjust w/ that grid graph thingy. Overall this is a killer freebie, esp if you dont own ableton and therefor have operator.

I mean the interface is nice but everything else is pretty boring and there are not a lot of options to mess with.

The sounds I got out of this grated badly on the nerves. As some people like it, I can only assume I didn't give it a fair try but to me it sounded like badly aliased oscillators passed through a HP filter and the sound magnified to ear piercing levels.

I think it is using waveforms from the old gear so you can probably get a convincing 'lately bass' from this.

Now I can follow Dash Glitch's youtube psytrance tutorials where he uses Serum, which I can't afford.

Incredible, extremely easy to configure, "please increase the bank to 128" the best FM synth to date.
