Tape Cassette is an analog tape simulator.

It is an easy to use audio plugin that gives your music warmth, noise and character. Whether it's an effect on the master for an overall lofi / indie texture, or as an insert to warm up individual channels, Tape Cassette gives you the tools to turn your music into a cosy, nostalgic listening experience.

Take the plugin into experimental territory by using the wow & flutter parameters and spin your sounds into a frenzy, or use the saturation parameter to heat up the sounds into a distorted cacophony.
  • Saturation (+/-24dB).
  • Low Pass Filter (8-22kHz).
  • Noise -80 to 0 dB.
  • Wow 0 - 100%.
  • Flutter 0 - 100%.

It's been months since Tap Cassette 2 was released with a lot of changes and improvements. Still, the plugin suffered from the same problem that TC1 had: A lack of Output Gain knob. But that changed yesterday when Caelum Audio released version 1.1 of TC2. Now I can recommend this plugin. https://www.caelumaudio.com/CaelumAudio/?Page=TapeCassette2

Very good tape sim. It sounds like hi-end reel tape at 7.5 ips to me, and it's up there with the reel sims Waves and others make. It doesn't sound like cassette. One reel sim I own, by Audio-something called "Reels" is much trashier than this.

Man, sick of all the tape, vinyl etc. simulators. Just buy an old quality deck and record your stuff on tape, then output it back in your DAW. Yeah, you lazy producers, wondering why not even you take your music seriously... Cause you AIN'T SWEATING it!...

Anon is one dumb mf. By his logic, then any DAW should not be used, as the different tools the DAW brings, can be done by different means. Like Sic Said with the producers recording reverbs in church. Again: Anon is one dumb mf.

it is vst3 which means you have to put the file in a specific place, I believe in steinberg folder under program files

No output gain and rather generic sound (not really an emulation of tape characteristics).

I thoroughly enjoy this even though its VST3, it just means to put it in a specific folder. Has a great effect for adding a tape hiss background. Thank you!

VST3 only. Not the devs fault, so thank you steinberg!
