Ferox is a tape saturation modeller.
It has separate controls for saturation and hysteresis effects. Feedback with variable tape speed is provided to simulate vintage tape echos.

Simple, very vorgiving and oh boy warm, perfect for adding "glue" or vintage character. Truely one of the best Tape saturation VSTs I've tried in a loooong time! And I can't believe it's free! 1000x thanks Jeroen!

I think it's about 14 years old and as far as tape machine emulations go, it hasn't been beaten yet by anyone.

I have used this for over a decade now I think ......... a tiny bit goes a long way ... truly awesome free plug in. Thank you Jerome.

As the others say .... this is an amazing free plug in. Gives gentle warmth or crazy distortion, with deakys !

I had this one for years, it's really old but stands the test of time. Very useful on all sorts of signals. Doesn't wash out the audio like many other plugs do. Nice for srums, just turn up recording level that's all. It adds something you can't hear much but completes the drum sound.

I would say this is my most used plugin. Drums, vocals, banjo, bass...even soft synths and vst organs that sound too dry or even too hi-fi. I've used it in vst winds with great results as well. The hysterisis ecxites the high frequencies, the saturation adds harmonic distortion..the filter shape wonderfully.... the only possible criticism is the large increments on the knobs to hear a discernable difference. When you hear it though, it's the missing element.

Very close to authentic but missing something like all analog emulations do. Still is better than most others.

Super plugin, love it

Plugins can be a pain in the butt to keep track of over time when mixes no longer work cause I can't find that one plugin. Well, this particular plugin is one that I would be really sad if it disappeared from the internet. Vst4free.com is an important site for that, and Ferox is an important plugin.

This little baby is really good at rounding off all the digital edges and adding noise. I purchased the Tone Booster, Track Essentials, which contains a similar product called TB Ferox (same developer), but I prefer this one. Thanks.

One of my favorite plugins. It is great for saturation, but it is also a fantastic analog delay.

I thought this was gone for good. Looking forward to test this one!

Holy hell. Simply the best tape saturation VST out there. Can't believe it's free. Brings out LUSH harmonics. Use it sparingly on my drum buss. But I drive it during the mastering process and reign it in with a limiter. Has changed my mixes in a serious way.

This is an excellent vst, I am still checking it out but I have to say right on.
