Out of all the TAL verbs, this is the worst one. Why? It has a severe bug that results in a constant hum and screws up the DC offset of the input signal. Stack 10 inserts in a row to see what I mean. Stick with TAL Reverb 2 and 4.

"Tal reverb I" was an instant crash but "Tal Reverb III" works fine. CPU usage is a bit high. I find it very hard to control, maybe that's normal with plate reverbs. There's always too much high end and the plate seems to ring on for too long. Maybe this is ok for specific sounds but I don't think this would be a very valid choice for your default reverb.

One trick pony. Quality is OK but applications limited. This reverb either fits the music or it doesn't.

Brilliant! Can a reverb unit be charismatic? This one surely is. :)

This is a quirky reverb unit with a lot of character. Compared to most reverbs, this one brings out a lot of noise from a signal. It sounds dirty and '80s. If you turn the wet and the room size up, you'll hear some very interesting noisescapes and hopefully, you'll be excited about the possibilities there. That said, this reverb is not your panacea. If you use this reverb on everything, as your general-purpose reverb, it's gonna sound weird. You'll be able to feel the mark of it on your mix and for some projects, (atmospheric, nostalgic, digital lo-fi) that's exactly what I've wanted. If you're putting this reverb on vocals for a modern pop mix, you're probably doing something wrong and if you're not doing something wrong, you're at least making a very bold decision.

Excellent, as are all of TAL's goodies.
